Job summary

Kyndryl in Bengaluru, India, seeks an experienced migration specialist to lead tenant-to-tenant SharePoint/OneDrive consolidations at enterprise scale. You will define target-state information architecture, governance, and a delta move strategy.

The role requires hands-on use of migration tools (ShareGate or equivalents), strong scripting (PowerShell/Graph), and the ability to produce runbooks, evidence packs, and quality gates for ready-to-migrate and ready-to-cutover stages.

Qualifications

• Proven delivery of tenant-to-tenant SharePoint/OneDrive migrations at enterprise scale.
• Deep SharePoint Online/OneDrive expertise (permissions, sharing, IA, metadata, governance).
• Hands-on experience using ShareGate (preferred) or comparable enterprise migration tooling and ability to interpret logs and failure modes.
• Strong understanding of Teams-connected content storage patterns and how Teams usage intersects with SharePoint/OneDrive.
• Experience building factory-ready runbooks, validation gates and evidence packs to drive repeatable execution.
• Strong troubleshooting mindset: can isolate issues quickly, define a fix pattern and push it into standard practice.

The Role

To execute a successful tenant consolidation, you must first define the target-state information architecture and governance considerations, including the sharing posture, permissions model, external sharing constraints, retention sensitivity, and content ownership patterns. From there, you need to define the tenant-to-tenant ODSP migration strategy, covering discovery, mapping, staging, delta moves, cutover approach, and post-move validation. To ensure consistency, you must standardise the tooling approach using ShareGate, Quest, or an equivalent solution, establishing configuration baselines, scheduling patterns, throttling management, reporting outputs, and error handling. You will also need to define operational runbooks for key migration tasks, such as site migrations, OneDrive migrations, Teams files migrations, permissions reconciliation, link and sharing remediation, and metadata validation. Managing the quality of the execution requires setting and enforcing strict quality gates—specifically "ready to migrate", "ready to cutover", and "accepted" criteria—supported by evidence packs and clear sampling methodologies. For non-standard scenarios, you must create an exception framework for difficult content, which includes handling very large libraries, broken inheritance sprawl, customisations, third-party integrations, legacy workflows, and blocked file types. Alongside this, you need to define a repeatable approach to permissions and sharing parity by clarifying what constitutes an "equivalent" state, what must be remediated, and what requires formal business sign-off. When technical issues arise, you will lead the escalation on complex failures, such as permissions anomalies, throttling, content mismatches, orphaned identities, broken sharing links, and Teams dependency problems. To drive efficiency, you must produce operational metrics for factory execution, tracking throughput, failure categories, rework rates, top blockers, and a continuous improvement backlog. Finally, you must align Shared Data cutovers directly to Identity, Devices, and Teams readiness so that the overall user experience is protected.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience building factory-ready runbooks, validation gates and evidence packs to drive repeatable execution.

• Strong troubleshooting mindset: can isolate issues quickly, define a fix pattern and push it into standard practice.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience with highly regulated or complex governance environments (strict retention, compliance, sensitivity labelling interactions).

• Familiarity with scripting and automation for checks/remediation (PowerShell/Graph).

• Knowledge of common ODSP migration pitfalls: link behaviour, sharing model differences, permissions sprawl, performance constraints, change windows.
