Job summary

Building Services Design & Energy Institute - MEPa2z is seeking an experienced Solar Electrical Design Engineer for the Delhi-NCR region. The role focuses on electrical design for utility-scale solar plants with a minimum of five years of relevant experience and strong experience in both pre-bid and detailed engineering.

You will develop electrical designs, review SLDs, perform cable sizing, voltage drop and short-circuit studies, and prepare equipment datasheets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical design for solar projects.
• Experience with utility-scale or ground-mounted PV systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize electrical designs for utility-scale Solar PV plants.
• Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and electrical layouts.
• Perform electrical design calculations including cable sizing, voltage drop, and short-circuit studies.
• Prepare technical specifications and datasheets for major electrical equipment.
• Review vendor offers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integrity.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Solar Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in the Delhi-NCR region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design and engineering, specifically for ground-mounted, utility-scale Solar PV projects. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with proven expertise in both pre-bid and detailed engineering processes. The candidate will be responsible for managing electrical engineering activities from the initial design phase through to project completion, ensuring that all designs are technically sound, cost-effective, and compliant with industry standards. Key responsibilities include developing and optimizing electrical designs for utility-scale Solar PV plants, preparing and reviewing Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, and equipment specifications. The engineer will perform critical electrical design calculations, including cable sizing, voltage drop assessments, and short-circuit studies. Additionally, the role involves preparing technical specifications and datasheets for major electrical equipment, reviewing vendor offers, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective design integration. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification, along with a strong understanding of solar plant electrical systems and grid interconnection requirements. Familiarity with international solar projects and multiple grid codes will be considered an advantage. Proficiency in electrical design tools such as ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory is preferred.
