Job summary

KBR IT Software Development team is seeking a Software Tester to contribute to testing of web-based systems across multiple Business Units globally. The role involves developing functional test cases, test scripts, and detailed test plans in collaboration with business stakeholders, developers, and the project manager.

The ideal candidate has experience in testing web interfaces, data-load interfaces, and reports, plus strong communication and technical writing abilities to produce formal test

• Hands-on experience testing web-based applications and creating test specifications and test plans.
• Ability to develop functional test cases and scenarios with business stakeholders, developers and project managers.
• Experience with ad hoc SQL queries and SQL tools.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills for formal test docs.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a set of test scripts to test functionality and performance of product components developed in-house
• Define and report meaningful test metrics to support decision making by the project manager and product acceptance criteria.
• Provide complex technical expertise to engineering management in the development, maintenance and refinement of internal quality control and reliability programs.
• Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced test personnel

Software Tester

Job Qualifications

We are seeking a Software Tester to support the KBR IT Software Development team. The qualified candidate will be a key contributor in development and testing of a web-based systems in support if multiple Business Units throughout KBR globally. The successful candidate should possess experience of testing web-based applications, as well as a demonstrated ability to create detailed test specifications and test plans. Candidate will develop functional tests cases and scenarios by working with the business stakeholders, developers and project manager.

Provides application software development services or technical support, typically for a defined project. Develops program logic for new applications, modify, and analyze existing application logic. Codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements, and maintains software applications. Under general supervision, and occasional direct supervision, performs assignments requiring experience and knowledge of standard concepts within their field. Displays core job competencies by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures while developing advanced skills. Skills required for this job are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, IT
• Expertise of ad hoc database queries using SQL or SQL tools like Toad, etc.
• Experience testing Web Interfaces and Data-Load Interfaces and Reports
• Communication and technical writing skills necessary to produce formal test specifications and test plans
• Analytical, problem solving, time management, priority allocation and task management skills
• Strong presentation skills to present test results to individuals and groups
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio and Azure DevOps
