Job summary

Medtronic in Hyderabad seeks a Software Test Engineer II to join our Endoscopy unit. You will test the functionality and performance of medical device software, develop test plans, and create regulatory reports.

You will work with developers to diagnose and improve software, while adhering to quality and regulatory standards. The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, 3+ years of embedded testing experience, and proficiency in C/C++ with Python scripting for test automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of embedded and software system testing experience.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems hardware and software architectures.
• Familiarity with programming languages C and C++.
• Experience with scripting languages for test automation (e.g., Python).
• Experience in the medical device industry or regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Tests the functionality and performance of medical device software systems and software applications.
• Develops and executes test plans and scripts designed to detect problems in medical device software systems and software applications.
• Create test reports used for regulatory submissions.
• Ensures medical device software systems and software applications meets technical and functional requirements.
• Performs workflow analysis, documents test results and recommends quality improvements.
• Works with development to resolve s Software defects and diagnose/improve product configuration for current and future models.
• Reviews test automation frameworks, tools, techniques, and methodologies.
• Manages completion of own work assignments and coordinates work with others.
• Identifies and encourages areas for growth and improvement.
• Continues to strengthen industry knowledge and use that knowledge to improve the quality of our products.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field with 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded and software system testing.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems hardware and software architectures.
• Familiarity with programming languages C, C++.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems hardware and software architectures.
• Experience with scripting languages for test automation (e.g., Python)
