Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a senior testing professional for its Wireless LAN product line. You will design and execute system-level tests, build automation, and drive test strategy in collaboration with local and remote teams.

The rolerequires deep wireless domain knowledge, strong problem solving, and excellent communication. You will mentor junior engineers and help manage release readiness and risk.

Qualifications

• MSEE/MS in Computer Science or BSEE/BS with extensive wireless testing experience.
• Extensive experience with Wireless LAN technologies and Enterprise Wireless products.
• Strong problem solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop system-level testing tools for Cisco Enterprise Wireless Access Point products, validating functionality, quality, and stability in customer-like environments.
• Plan and execute functional, system, manual, and automated testing for Access Point software features and modules.
• Review Product Requirements Documents, SW Functional and Design Specifications, and other relevant documentation to extract test requirements and identify testability needs.
• Provide test design and execution input, and build, maintain, and expand test automation to deliver sufficient coverage across ongoing software releases.
• Investigate customer-found Access Point issues by designing reproduction scenarios, analyzing failures, validating fixes, and incorporating the learnings into regression coverage and test strategy.
• Technically lead and guide junior engineers through test planning, automation, debugging, execution, and technical reviews.
• Collaborate with local and remote teams to drive defects, dependencies, and open issues to closure while communicating risks and status clearly.
• Advise management on the overall test progress, quality status, readiness, and release risks for assigned projects.
• Increase test efficiency and effectiveness by applying appropriate test approaches, technologies, tools, and innovations based on product and customer needs.
• Help the test team expand its wireless networking and test technology knowledge by keeping abreast of the latest developments and systematically archiving relevant documentation and equipment information.

You will join Cisco's fast-paced and growing Wireless LAN business unit in India, where the work environment has a startup-like culture. The team works with local and remote engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to validate product quality and stability from a system perspective that reflects real customer environments.

Your Impact

Minimum Qualifications

• Typically requires an MSEE or MS in Computer Science with 10+ years of related experience, or a BSEE or BS in Computer Science with 12+ years of related experience.
• Extensive experience with Wireless LAN technologies, Access Point software, and Enterprise Wireless products.
• End-to-end wireless domain knowledge, including the ability to design and troubleshoot Access Point deployments in medium-to-large customer-like environments.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, assertiveness, and the ability to take discussions and open issues to closure with local and remote teams.
• Very strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action.
• Ability to interact cross-functionally and drive issues to the desired solution for customers.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and with very general instructions.
• Strong scripting knowledge in Python, with experience understanding and coding programmability transports using native and OpenConfig models.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently with minimal managerial oversight.
• Experience supporting or working with Access Points in customer deployments.
