Job summary

PTC Software (India) Private Limited is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support a microservice-based SaaS platform on Azure. You will write unit tests, participate in architecture discussions, and build NestJS microservices deployed on Kubernetes in an Agile setup.

Ideal candidates will have strong coding, debugging, and testing skills, plus experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Azure services, and API gateways such as Ambassador.

• Strong design skills to contribute to performant and secure SaaS platform
• Strong coding skills to develop microservices using NestJS
• Strong debugging skills to investigate tickets and defects
• Strong unit testing skills and Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Strong SQL and NoSQL database knowledge
• Awareness of Azure services and related capabilities
• Familiarity with API Gateways like Ambassador and configuration of Auth0

Responsibilities

Job Role: Software Engineer who designs, develops, tests and supports the microservice based SaaS platform in Azure

Day to Day Activities

• Writing unit tests and also incorporate Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Actively participate in discussions to architect the future solutions and choose technologies
• Work in an Agile environment
• Build microservices in NestJS and deploy them on Kubernetes using modern languages
• Collaborate with the team to take advantage of new concepts/technologies
• Contribute to our technical direction and standards with engineers on the team
• Participate in team's goal setting discussions with Product Management
• Continuous grooming of user stories, estimating them, identifying requirement of SPIKEs (Technical Enabler stories)
• Participate in technical support activity for the platform

Must have Skills

• Strong design skills to participate in design discussion and suggest valid recommendations to be incorporated to achieve performant and secure SaaS platform
• Strong coding skills to develop microservices using NestJS
• Strong debugging skills to investigate any support tickets and other defects in the system
• Strong unit testing skills to write unit tests and incorporate Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Strong database knowledge both SQL and NoSQL to optimize the queries
• Good to have awareness of various services offered by Azure services
• Must be aware of Auth0, how it works and application configuration in Auth0
• Good to be aware of API Gateway like Ambassador
