Job summary

Siemens Software is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on software testing and automation experience to join our Quality Center of Excellence. • 2+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance / Software Testing, with hands-on experience in test automation.
• Strong programming or scripting skills in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or a comparable language.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Katalon Studio, PyTest, TestNG, JUnit, or equivalent.
• Experience with API testing and database validation, including RESTful APIs, SQL queries, and tools such as Postman or Swagger.
• Familiarity with SPARQL and RDF/knowledge graph concepts, including SPARQL queries for data retrieval and validation.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, TDD, and BDD, with strong analytical and collaborative skills.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in software testing and test automation to join our growing Quality Center of Excellence.

In this role, you will design, develop, and execute automated tests across Siemens software products in a multiplatform environment. You will combine strong software testing fundamentals with programming and automation skills to improve product quality, test coverage, and release confidence.

You will work closely with Product Management, Software Development, Applications Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams, while also collaborating with other QA specialists across Siemens in areas such as automation, performance testing, and security testing.

The ideal candidate is a logical thinker and strong problem solver who enjoys understanding how software works, identifying defects, automating repetitive activities, and continuously improving the way software is tested.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop test automation: Design, implement, maintain, and execute automated tests for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios using appropriate frameworks and programming languages.
• Drive test coverage: Work with Product Managers, Developers, and Quality Engineers to understand requirements, identify risks, define test cases, and develop effective automation strategies for new features and product releases.
• Enable continuous testing: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide rapid feedback, detect defects early, and improve the efficiency and reliability of software delivery.
• Test APIs and data: Perform API testing using RESTful services and tools such as Postman or Swagger, and validate application data using SQL queries and SPARQL where applicable.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues: Execute automated and functional tests, analyze failures and results, identify defects, perform structured troubleshooting, and collaborate with development teams to drive resolution.
• Improve automation frameworks: Continuously enhance existing test frameworks, scripts, and utilities to improve maintainability, efficiency, reliability, and test coverage.
• Collaborate and contribute to quality excellence: Maintain clear test documentation, share knowledge, and collaborate with the Siemens Quality Center of Excellence to adopt effective quality engineering practices and emerging testing technologies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance / Software Testing, with hands-on experience in test automation.
• Strong programming or scripting skills in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or a comparable language, with the ability to develop maintainable automation solutions.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Katalon Studio, PyTest, TestNG, JUnit, or equivalent.
• Experience with API testing and database validation, including RESTful APIs, SQL queries, and tools such as Postman or Swagger.
• Familiarity with SPARQL and RDF/knowledge graph concepts, including the ability to write or assess SPARQL queries for data retrieval and validation.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI, or equivalent, with an understanding of integrating automated tests into pipelines.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, TDD, and BDD, combined with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to AI agents, LLM-driven applications, or AI-assisted automation, including technologies such as Anthropic Claude or equivalent.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies.
• Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Familiarity with security testing practices such as DAST and penetration testing concepts.
• Experience testing browser-based applications, including functionality, performance, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience or interest in Data Science, Data Visualization, Data Analytics, RDF, or Knowledge Graph technologies.
• Experience with defect and test management tools such as JIRA, X-Ray, TestRail, or Zephyr.
