About The Role

• Operates within BT Networks Cloud Services – supporting and enabling integrated tooling across BT Networks to underpin the business-critical products BT offers its customers.
• Works within a platform engineering and automation team, building and maintaining internal tooling, services, and integrations that support collaboration and operational workflows across BT.
• Focuses on full-stack development, spanning backend services, APIs, frontend interfaces, and integrations with enterprise systems (identity, data, and third‑party platforms).
• Contributes to cloud‑based platforms and internal developer tooling, with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Designs and delivers high‑quality, production‑grade software used by thousands of internal users, improving efficiency and reducing manual processes.
• Builds robust APIs, services, and user‑facing applications that enable self‑service and streamline complex workflows. Drives improvements in performance, reliability, and security across critical internal systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

Essential Skills / Experience

• Strong experience in full‑stack development (frontend and backend)
• Good knowledge of at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Java, or Node.js)
• Experience building and using APIs
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React or similar)
• Ability to write clean, well‑structured, and well‑tested code
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience working with cloud‑based systems and services
• Understanding of version control (e.g., Git) and team‑based development
• Ability to work with others and communicate clearlyWillingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies

Desirable Skills / Experience

• Experience designing scalable and reliable systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment
• Knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL) and data modelling

• Experience working on internal platforms or developer tooling
• Familiarity Atlassian Cloud suite and Forge platform for plugin development
