ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for an AI-first Engineering Manager to own and evolve our Financial Systems capability, spanning our full financial and operational technology stack — ERP, order management platforms, procurement, payment systems, and the integrations that connect them. This role leads a team of SDEs, Technical and Business Systems Analysts while serving as the strategic bridge between Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering — driving AI-led productivity and transformation as a core expectation, not a future initiative. The Engineering Manager, Financial & SCM Systems delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Cross-Functional Leadership:

• Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations to translate business needs into scalable, AI-augmented system solutions, acting as a trusted advisor who proactively surfaces AI opportunities rather than simply responding to requests.
• Lead investment conversations with senior leadership, including trade-off decisions between new capability delivery, platform stability, and AI tooling, communicating effectively across technical and non-technical audiences from engineering teams to C-suite stakeholders.
• Manage system integrators and software vendors, ensuring quality, accountability, and alignment to the AI-first roadmap, and make build-vs-buy recommendations grounded in total cost of ownership and strategic fit.
• Lead and develop a team of SDEs, Technical and Business Systems Analysts, setting a high bar for AI tool adoption — ChatGPT/Claude, GitHub Copilot, Oracle AI — and coaching team members on weaving these into daily workflows.
• Build a data-driven team culture by tracking velocity, AI adoption rates, and time-to-resolution, using these metrics to drive coaching and continuous improvement.
• Develop career paths and growth plans that reflect both domain expertise and AI-first working practices, ensuring two or more team members grow into expanded scope or responsibility within a twelve-month horizon.

Fan & Customer Impact (Obsessed with Fans)

• Govern process design, configuration, and customizations across platforms to protect stability, auditability, and upgrade paths, ensuring financial and operational systems remain reliable through peak-season demand.
• Oversee UAT, release management, and production support with minimal disruption during high-volume periods, targeting zero critical incidents attributable to systems failure.
• Ensure financial and operational controls, audit readiness (SOX), and data integrity across all owned systems, protecting the integrity of every transaction that touches the fan experience.
• Drive functional stability and incident resolution, including structured root cause analysis for recurring issues, so business operations and customer-facing platforms remain uninterrupted.

• Drive AI-augmented delivery by identifying manual and repetitive workflows across the team and leading their replacement with AI-assisted approaches — AI-generated specs, Copilot-assisted code, AI-powered test generation, and anomaly detection.
• Set AI guardrails and standards by defining responsible-use policies, data security guidelines, and quality checkpoints for AI tool use within a financial systems context.
• Evaluate new financial technology platforms and AI tools, making build-vs-buy recommendations grounded in total cost of ownership and strategic fit.
• Measure and report AI impact by tracking productivity gains, error reduction, and time savings attributable to AI adoption, and present results and recommendations to senior leadership.

CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING

Required Qualifications:

• 8–12+ years of ERP functional and/or technical experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Finance (O2C, P2P, GL, AR, AP) and/or Supply Chain and integrations, preferably in retail, eCommerce, or high-transaction environments with complex integration landscapes.
• Hands-on AI practitioner with active daily use of tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT/Claude, or Oracle AI — including demonstrated experience driving AI tool adoption within a team, setting standards, training others, and measuring productivity impact.
• Proven ability to lead automations leveraging cloud ERP native capabilities, low-code/no-code platforms, or AI-native tooling, with familiarity in AI risk, governance, and compliance considerations in enterprise financial systems.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and cross-system data flows, with experience across financial platforms including order management, procurement, treasury, and payment systems.
• Demonstrated ability to build and retain high-performing teams with a culture of ownership, learning, and AI-first delivery, including developing career paths that reflect both domain expertise and modern working practices.
• Exceptional prioritization and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences, from engineering teams to C-suite stakeholders, with strong project management instincts in high-ambiguity environments.
• Experience ensuring financial and operational controls, SOX audit readiness, and data integrity across enterprise systems in complex, multi-platform environments.
