The Role

We are seeking a founding Engineering Manager to lead and bootstrap our newest team: Core Frontier, at the intersection of deep product innovation and the customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Hire and bootstrap the Core Frontier team in Bengaluru, setting the technical bar and engineering culture while fostering collaboration with our global teams in Europe and North America.
• Work closely with Product, Security, Design, Architecture, and QA to deliver features that delight customers in a highly collaborative and cross‑functional environment.
• Adapt and evolve engineering processes and best practices to keep the team agile, healthy, and high‑performing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize the roadmap, provide necessary context and technical clarity to unblock the team.
• Run people and team management activities such as coaching, 1:1s, performance reviews, ceremonies, etc.
• Be responsible for the team’s health and delivery, and for report growth and performance.
• Maintain a hands‑on approach by participating in code reviews, architectural discussions, and contributing to the codebase outside the critical path.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience, including 3+ years of engineering management and a prior strong foundation as an individual contributor.
• Experience leading teams that build highly reliable, secure, and scalable distributed systems.
• A passion for coaching engineers at various career stages and fostering technical growth.
• Effective communication across time zones and functions, both technical and non‑technical.
• A systematic approach to tackling technical and organizational challenges with strong ownership.
• Ability and desire to remain technically capable, directly contributing to development and architectural strategy outside the critical path.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Experience with Node.js and AWS stack.
• Experience designing and maintaining public‑facing, secure APIs.
