Job summary

2care.ai is seeking a software engineer early in their career to design, build, deploy, and improve Voice AI agents that handle real patient conversations. You will work across the web platform, backend services, and cloud infrastructure, owning features end-to-end.

You will ship quickly, learn on the job, and take ownership as you see live deployments in clinics. Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript or Python and a bias for shipping is valued. Prior exposure to LLMs or AI agents is a bonus.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript or Python.
• Experience with APIs, databases, and building integrations.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
• Develop and improve Voice AI agents that manage real patient calls, including flows, interruptions, retries, and escalation logic.
• Build backend services and APIs, and integrate EHRs, practice management systems, calendars, and third-party APIs.
• Work with LLMs for prompting, tool calling, and conversation state to make agents reliable and safe.
• Deploy and maintain services on the cloud, and improve logging, monitoring, and evaluation to catch issues early.
• Debug live call flows: audio quality, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, API failures, infra bottlenecks.
• Own customer deployments end-to-end and collaborate directly with founders and customers.

About 2care.ai

2care.ai builds clinically safe AI workers that automate healthcare administration. Our Voice AI agents answer patient calls, schedule appointments, manage referrals, and handle follow-ups, integrating directly with EHRs and hospital systems. Clinics use us to automate up to 90% of front-desk operations, cut missed calls, and recover lost revenue. Everything we build runs in production and is used by real clinics and hospitals every day.

The Role

We're looking for a builder, someone early in your career but hungry to own real systems. You'll design, build, deploy, and improve Voice AI agents that handle live patient conversations, working across our web platform, backend services, and cloud infrastructure. You won't be handed narrow tickets. You'll own features end to end, ship fast, and see your work go live in clinics within days.

We care far more about how you think, learn, and take ownership than about years on a résumé.

What you'll do

What we're looking for

• 2 to 3 years of software engineering experience (strong internships and projects count).
• Solid fundamentals in at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript or Python, and willingness to work across both.
• Comfort with backend APIs, databases, and building things that talk to other systems.
• Strong debugging instincts and the ability to work through ambiguous problems.
• A bias for shipping, learning new tech quickly, and owning what you build.
• Bonus: exposure to LLMs/AI agents, real-time/streaming systems, telephony, or cloud infrastructure.

You do not need prior Voice AI experience. If you're a fast learner who ships, we'll teach you the rest.
