Job summary

NTT DATA in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance / Testing Engineer to lead advanced QA across development cycles, with expertise in exploratory and automated testing.

You will collaborate with regions, product owner, and developers to ensure end-to-end testing, develop test plans and automation scripts, review requirements, and drive quality metrics. On-site role in a global, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Leading SAFe would be advantageous.
• Advanced hands-on testing experience in AGILE/DevOps, CI/CD, and software quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, report QA activities for new development cycles across releases.
• Review Agile user stories with stakeholders and developers to understand functionality.
• Ensure end-to-end testing coverage with stakeholders and product owners.
• Create and implement end-to-end test scenarios; debug and define corrective actions.
• Review system requirements and track QA metrics (defect densities, open defects).
• Perform risk analysis and document test progress and results; conduct thorough regression testing.
• Collaborate across teams to review requirements, specifications, and design documents; provide feedback.
• Create detailed, comprehensive test plans and test cases; design and run automation scripts.

Your day at NTT DATA The Senior Software Quality Assurance / Testing Engineer is an advanced subject matter expert, accountable for ensuring that the design and software adhere to company standards in every phase of the development process.

This role consults various stakeholders in the development and execution of exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring the planning, execution, reporting, and successful completion of QA activities for all new development cycles for various releases.
• Accountable for Agile-related user story review meetings and/or work with relevant business stakeholders and developers to understand the new or modified application functionality.
• Networks with the required user community (such as Regions or the Product Owner) to understand business requirements and uphold quality of each release by ensuring a comprehensive end-to-end testing coverage.
• Creates and implements end-to-end test scenarios, as well as debugging and defining corrective actions.
• Responsible for reviewing system requirements and tracking of quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts).
• Accountable for performing and documenting risk analysis and record test progress and results. Performing thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Works across multiple teams to review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
• Creates detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Designs, develops, codes, and executes automation scripts.
• Designs standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness.
• Contributes recommendations that will enable innovation and streamline overall testing processes.
• Works across multiple teams to research new tools, technologies, and testing processes as well as user interfaces for consistency and functionality.
• Responsible for documenting established QA processes and best practices in Agile Scrum development methodology and influence the continuous improvement of the QA activities.
• Performs any other related task as required.

Academic qualifications and certifications

Required experience

• Advanced demonstrated hands-on testing experience in AGILE/DevOps Methodology, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery.
• Advanced demonstrated work experience in software development.
• Advanced demonstrated work experience in software quality assurance.
• Proficient in working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Proficiency in performance and/or security testing is a plus.
• Advanced demonstrated hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
• Advanced demonstrated experience working within a geographically dispersed company is desirable
