Job summary

Cisco is seeking a senior automation engineer to work on scalable systems and automation frameworks. You will collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver end-to-end automated solutions, using Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and cloud services across AWS/Azure. Strong scripting and UI automation experience required.

You will own features from conception through production, contributing to testing, monitoring, and alerting to maintain quality at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automation experience.
• Hands-on with Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, ELK, Grafana, Terraform, Git, and AWS services like RDS/DynamoDB.
• Expertise in networking domain.
• Proficient in Python scripting for automation.
• UI automation experience using Selenium/Robot Framework.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
• Ability to test and automate end-to-end solutions and scale tests.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership from conception to production release across teams.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and front-end engineers to simplify workflows for customers.
• Build scalable, extendable automation frameworks and architectures.
• Add tests, monitoring, and alerting to ensure system quality.
• Work across Cisco BUs on Secure Connect features and integrations.

Your Impact

• Work closely with leaders in the networking industry on a high-profile project that includes collaboration across business units, rapid prototyping, and integration into production
• Solve challenging architecture problems to build scalable and extendable systems
• Work with cisco’s cross BU to handle Cisco Secure Connect E2E solutions and adding new features for Secure connect
• Take complete ownership from conception to production release by leveraging your ability to influence, facilitate, and work collaboratively across teams
• Work closely with Product Managers, UX designers, and front-end engineers to develop simplified workflows for our customers
• Ensure the quality of these systems by adding tests, monitoring, and alerting systems

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in automation
• Hands-on experience with languages and technologies including Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, ELK, Grafana, Terraform, GIT, and several AWS services like RDS and DynamoDB.
• Expertise in networking domain
• Hands on experience on writing complex automation framework using python or other scripting languages
• Hands on experience on doing UI automation using Selenium/robot framework
• Good debugging skills
• Experience working with Azure and/or AWS cloud
• Able to test & automate end to end solutions, scale level tests using python or any available framework
• Hands on experience on automation and manual testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or willingness to work in an agile environment (Scrum.)
• Personal projects or contributions to open-source projects.
• Experience with Cypress
• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) systems
• Experience with Docker and/or other container technologies
