Responsibilities

• Execute automated and manual testing for the Tank SaaS platform, including mobile apps, IoT data ingestion pipelines, and firmware.
• Clarify requirements, define test scenarios, and identify defects early with developers and product owners.
• Develop automation using Playwright, Selenium, Cypress; integrate tests with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions).
• Perform functional, regression, integration, E2E, smoke, negative and exploratory testing.
• Design and maintain scalable UI, API and integration automation frameworks.
• Validate backend services, REST APIs, databases, event/message flows, and third-party integrations.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve regression coverage and execution time.
• Drive Quality Engineering and Shift-Left practices across the development lifecycle.

Job description

We are seeking a QA Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of our Tank IoT platform. In this role, you will execute and support testing efforts across cloud and mobile solutions, validating functionality from device connectivity through telemetry processing, data accuracy, APIs, reports, and system integrations. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to identify issues early, verify new functionality, and help deliver high-quality customer experiences in real-world field deployments.

You will develop and maintain automated test coverage, participate in manual testing activities, and integrate validation into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. The role includes testing event-driven and asynchronous workflows, validating IoT telemetry data flows, and performing system, integration, and data validation testing across applications and services built with Windows Forms/Services, Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, Azure App Services, SQL Server, and Cosmos DB. Success in this role requires attention to detail, a passion for quality, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to ensure reliable and accurate data delivery throughout the platform.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Develop automation using tools such as Playwright, Karate and Appium. Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions.
• Perform functionality, regression, integration, E2E, smoke/sanity, negative and exploratory testing.
• Design and maintain scalable UI, API and integration automation frameworks.
• Validate backend services, REST APIs, database, event/message flows and third-party integrations.
• Identify automation opportunities and improve overall regression coverage and execution time.
• Drive Quality Engineering and promote Shift-Left practices across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications and Education:

• 3+ years of professional software testing and QA experience for SaaS and mobile platforms.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and an ownership mindset
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Software Engineering, or related field Preferred.

Required Technical Skills:

• Test Automation Frameworks: Playwright/Selenium/Cypress using BDD or equivalent
• API Testing: REST/SOAP APIs
• Database Testing: SQL
• Manual Testing Fundamentals: Knowledge of manual testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle.
• Version Control: Git
• Methodologies: Agile, Scrum
• Application Architecture & Platform Knowledge: Hands-on knowledge of microservices, OAuth/JWT authentication, databases, cloud environments, application observability, log monitoring, messaging systems, and distributed testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Performance Testing: JMeter, k6, or similar load testing tools
• Mobile Test Automation: Appium or equivalent frameworks
• Firmware & Device Testing: Experience testing embedded systems, hardware-integrated applications, or connected devices
• Security Testing: Knowledge of security testing principles and tools
• AI-Assisted Testing: Experience with AI-powered test automation, test generation, and quality engineering tools
