Job summary

AliveCor is seeking a Software Engineer, iOS, to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance iOS applications within a health‑tech context. You will collaborate with product, design, backend, and QA teams to deliver reliable software powering millions of heart‑health measurements.

You’ll leverage Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI and modern architectures while integrating RESTful APIs and third‑party SDKs. The role emphasizes code quality, testing, performance, and staying current with iOS innovations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of iOS development with Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms; write efficient, scalable code.
• Multithreading with GCD and Swift Concurrency.
• Experience with AI tools like Claude AI or GitHub Copilot for productivity.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering for code generation, debugging, and tests.
• MVC, MVVM, and Clean Architecture principles.
• RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and networking with Alamofire.
• Local persistence with Core Data, SQLite, or Realm.
• HIG compliance and dependency management (SPM, CocoaPods).
• Git collaboration and XCTest for testing.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high‑performance iOS applications.
• Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable code using Swift and modern iOS frameworks.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend developers, and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and third‑party SDKs.
• Ensure application performance, responsiveness, and reliability.
• Identify and fix bugs, memory leaks, crashes, and performance bottlenecks.
• Write unit tests and participate in code reviews.
• Publish and maintain applications on the Apple App Store.
• Stay up to date with the latest iOS technologies, frameworks, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Core iOS Development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2+ years of professional experience in iOS application development with a strong proficiency in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) with the ability to write efficient, optimized, and scalable code.
  • Knowledge of multithreading using Grand Central Dispatch (GCD) and Swift Concurrency (async/await).
• AI & Emerging Technologies
  • Experience working with AI‑powered development tools such as Claude AI or GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and leveraging AI tools for code generation, debugging, and test case creation.
• Technical Architecture & Tools
  • Expertise in MVC, MVVM, and Clean Architecture principles.
  • Advanced experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and networking frameworks like Alamofire.
  • Proficiency in local data persistence using Core Data, SQLite, or Realm.
  • Mastery of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and dependency management (SPM, CocoaPods).
  • Expertise in collaborative version control (Git) and automated testing using XCTest.
