Qualifikationen

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years of applied experience.
• Experience debugging and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern languages and databases.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise AI-assisted development tools and ability to evaluate AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong proficiency in Java with Spring Boot and front-end delivery using React/Angular.
• Experience building Kafka producers/consumers in Java.
• Experience with SQL databases (Aurora/Postgres or equivalent) and NoSQL databases (Cassandra/DynamoDB/ElasticSearch).
• CloudFoundry/AWS experience and building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong quality mindset: TDD, automation, code reviews, and mentorship.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology - Business Banking team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.


• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation


• Own design and delivery for full-stack features (Java/Spring Boot + React/Angular).


• Build resilient services and integrations (Kafka/eventing, downstream dependencies).


• Drive engineering quality through reviews, automation, test strategy, and CI/CD improvements.


• Improve production readiness (monitoring, alerting, dashboards, runbooks) and reduce recurring incidents.


• Mentor engineers and help standardize best practices across the squad.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience


• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages


• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.


• StrongJava and Spring BootandReact/Angularfull-stack delivery.


• Experience developingKafkaproducers/consumers in Java


• Experience with SQL databases such as Aurora – Postgres or equivalent with data modelling, query optimization and performance tuning.


• NoSQL experience:Cassandra / DynamoDB / Elastic Search(modeling + performance).


• Hands-onCloud Foundry/AWSand building/maintainingCI/CD pipelines.


• Strong quality mindset, including TDD, automation, design and code reviews, and engineering mentorship.


• Ability to work with tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana for observability and monitoring



• Experience building applications with resilient, highly available architectures, including consideration for failure modes, recovery, and operational readiness.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies


• Exposure to cloud technologies


• Experience with advanced AI/LLM capabilities, including LLM integrations, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and tool calling, is a plus.


• Cross-team delivery leadership, PCI exposure, AWS cert are pluses.


• Working knowledge of secure engineering practices and designing to meet Cyber Security and Technology Control requirements (e.g., authentication/authorization, secure APIs, data protection, dependency hygiene).
