JPMorganChase in Bengaluru is seeking a Software Engineer III – Back-End Engineer to help deliver cloud-native microservices and secure, scalable banking solutions. You will work in a distributed team across regions, focusing on Java-based back-end services and modern cloud architectures.

You will design tests, implement RESTful services, ensure zero-downtime releases, and leverage enterprise AI-assisted tools while maintaining strong security practices.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience.
• Recent hands‑on professional experience as a back‑end software engineer.
• Experience in coding in a recent version of the Java programming language.
• Experience in designing and implementing effective tests (unit, component, integration, end‑to‑end, performance, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Understanding of cloud technologies, distributed systems, RESTful APIs and web technologies.
• Familiarity with relational data stores.
• Hands‑on experience using enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted software development tools within the work environment with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and security expectations.

• Leverages enterprise‑authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise‑authorized AI‑assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
