Job summary

LexisNexis Risk Solutions in Chennai is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop, and optimize software components within a product line. You will collaborate with squads to define requirements and translate them into robust solutions.

The role emphasizes Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and cloud deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure, with opportunities to advance using Databricks and Python.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Strong Java experience; Java 8 required, with Java 11/21 experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Microservices, Hibernate, JPA, and Cosmos DB.
• Experience with performance optimization and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions preferred), and Azure cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Kafka/EventHub and REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Java migration experience (8 to 11/21), Databricks, and Python are good to have.

• Develop and review detailed specifications and translate moderately complex requirements into effective software designs.
• Implement software development processes, coding best practices, and participate in code reviews.

About the Role

This position performs moderately difficult research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line. The position should have the ability to work on individual pieces of work and solve problems including the design of the program flow of individual pieces of code, effective coding, and unit testing.
