Job summary

Arcadia, a technology company accelerating clean energy access, seeks a resourceful Full Stack Software Engineer in Chennai (hybrid). You’ll build data-focused microservices, observability reports, and data pipelines, collaborating with product, SRE, and analytics teams to deliver value to customers and partners.

You’ll work with Java Spring Boot, Angular, and AWS, contribute to a fast-paced engineering culture, and mentor teammates while exploring new technologies to improve the platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
• Experience with Java, Python, TypeScript, SQL.
• Experience with MySQL and Elasticsearch or comparable databases.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s) and AWS services (Lambda, SQS).
• CI/CD tooling experience (GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Experience with React or Angular; Springboot; API programming.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a resourceful, versatile Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Telemetry & Tooling team and work on building critical technology solutions, work on micro services, observability reports & data pipelines that enable Arcadia's platform, products, and services. The ideal candidate is a low-ego team player who approaches engineering problems and potential solutions with a unique, holistic, and long-term perspective, and is genuinely excited to build the software expanding renewable energy access to millions of households across the country. We’re looking for an inquisitive, analytical problem-solver who possesses both grit and flexibility --our work often involves implementing unconventional solutions and requires someone who’s not afraid to explore new domains when previous methods fail, sort through minute details, or find non-engineering ways around a problem. This person must be comfortable with iterating towards a solution and collaborating closely with colleagues in Product, SRE, Data Engineering, Analytics and US counterparts along the way.

Our Platform process uses a microservices architecture that makes heavy use of Java Spring boot based applications, Angular frontend and AWS services. We are also open to any technology through which can deliver features to end users quicker and on time. We have several of our ecosystem service apps running on K8s.

What you’ll do:

• Write and refactor code to help Arcadia deliver data on the committed timeline
• Partner with Product, SRE, Data Engineering, and Analytics to deliver the best possible product for our members and enterprise partners
• Design and develop robust, scalable back-end systems
• Build and maintain microservices that aid in monitoring, tracking, and delivering data to end users on time.
• Build and maintain observability reports, which help various stakeholders track progress, take necessary action, and deliver data to customers without delay.
• Frequently deploy new functionality to production with a streamlined CI/CD pipeline.
• Explore new technologies with an open-minded team.
• Increase test coverage and reliability, and help troubleshoot production issues
• Collaborate frequently with other engineers, give thoughtful code review, and mentor junior engineers.
• Notice and speak up about opportunities to improve the member and developer experience.

What will help you succeed:
