Job summary

JP MorganChase in Bengaluru is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments Technology team. Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• 3+ years applied experience in software testing/quality assurance.
• Hands-on knowledge of test automation tools (Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, JMeter, TestNG, BlazeMeter) and JAVA.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and automation framework creation.
• Experience with Jira or similar defect management tools.
• Experience in Agile (Scrum) teams.
• Proficiency in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large corporate environments.
• Exposure to AI-assisted capabilities used for production support workflows.
• Experience in API testing of REST web services through automation.

Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive test coverage including positive and negative scenarios; execute automated test suites and analyze results.
• Leverage enterprise AI capabilities to speed incident triage and trend analysis while ensuring data sensitivity and security.
• Maintain thorough testing lifecycle documentation; log defects and track remediation progress.
• Report bugs promptly to development teams and support diagnostic efforts.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to team members to build testing capabilities.
• Demonstrate new product features to business stakeholders.

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank- Payments Technology team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

Job responsibilities

• Design comprehensive test coverage encompassing both positive and negative test scenarios, execute automated test suites, and perform thorough results analysis
• Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to speed up incident triage and trend analysis from operational signals, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements
• Maintain detailed documentation throughout the testing lifecycle, capturing test execution activities and logging all identified defects
• Report bugs, errors, and anomalies to the development team in a timely manner, and actively collaborate on diagnostic and remediation activities
• Deliver coaching and mentorship to team members to build testing capabilities and expertise
• Conduct product feature demonstrations for business stakeholders to showcase new functionality
• Collaborate with product teams to identify process gaps and uncover opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation
• Applies technical troubleshooting to breakdown solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
• Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
• Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Hand-on knowledge in Test automation tools like Playwright, Selenium, Cucumber, JMeter, TestNG, BlazeMeter and JAVA
• Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement
• Creating a new Automation Framework on need basis.
• Exposure to JIRA or other similar tools for Test case and Defect Management.
• Exposure in working with Agile (Scrum) teams.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Demonstrated knowledge of applications or infrastructure in a large-scale technology environment both on premises and public cloud
• Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support production support workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
• Ability to review and validate AI-assisted incident recommendations before action, escalating when uncertain and following operational and security expectations
• Working experience of performing API testing on REST web services through automation

• Working understanding of Banking domain
