Nike is seeking a Software Engineer II to help build the next generation of its Cloud Networking Control Plane - a declarative, Kubernetes-native platform that provisions and reconciles cloud networking across hundreds of AWS accounts and a growing Azure footprint. The ideal candidate is an individual contributor who delivers features end-to-end onCrossplanecompositions, Kubernetes controllers, and supporting automation. They write Go, work in Kubernetes daily, and operate AWS and Azure networking primitives at enterprise scale. The role requires proficiency in Go and solid Terraform experience, including module development, state management, plan/apply lifecycles, and drift management. Candidates should haveworkingknowledge of Kubernetes - reading manifests, understanding controllers and CRDs, and usingkubectlin production, with prior exposure to writing controllers or CRDs as a plus. Familiarity withCrossplane,kubebuilder, operator-sdk, or comparable Kubernetes-native infrastructure patterns is expected. Experience with AWS core networking (VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NACLs, VPC endpoints) is required, with Azure networking experience as a plus. Comfort with Git workflows, code review, CI/CD pipelines, Linux environments, and clear technical writing is essential.
The candidate needs to have strong software engineering fundamentals, ownership of well-scoped deliverables, and the ability to write documentation others can operate without them in the room. They must be comfortable with Go, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud networking primitives, and able to participate in on-call rotation and cross-timezonecollaboration with engineers in the U.S.
