Job summary

Nike in India is seeking a Software Engineer II to help build the next generation of its Cloud Networking Control Plane—a declarative, Kubernetes-native platform that provisions and reconciles cloud networking across hundreds of AWS accounts and a growing Azure footprint.

You will contribute Go code to Crossplane compositions and Kubernetes controllers, extend Terraform modules, and help migrate Nike’s network topology to a Kubernetes-native control plane while collaborating across time zones.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience building and operating cloud infrastructure or backend services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in Go, Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS core networking; Crossplane or comparable Kubernetes-native infrastructure experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• You’ll contribute Go code to Crossplane compositions, Custom Resource Definitions, Kubernetes controllers, and supporting tools.
• You’ll extend and maintain Terraform modules and per-account intake configurations, and help migrate those patterns onto the Kubernetes-native control plane.
• You’ll build automation that provisions AWS networking primitives—VPCs, Transit Gateway attachments, CloudWAN segments, VPC endpoints, and PrivateLink services—and Azure networking as Nike’s multi-cloud footprint grows.
• You’ll own well-scoped features from design through review, testing, deployment, and post-launch verification.
• You’ll write tests, runbooks, and documentation that other engineers (and automation) can operate without you in the room.
• You’ll participate in on-call rotation for the systems you contribute to, including incident response and post-incident follow-up.
• You’ll review peer pull requests with attention to consistency, error handling, and blast-radius considerations across hundreds of AWS accounts.

Nike’s Cloud Networking team, part of Cloud & Core Engineering’s Runtime Plane, provisions cloud networking primitives across AWS and Azure. The India-based team partners with engineers in Beaverton to deliver VPC, Transit Gateway,CloudWAN, and multi-cloud reachability at enterprise scale.Thegreaterteam partners with Runtime Plane domain control planes, product engineering, and operations groups to keep network provisioning reliable, automated, and consistent at scale.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike is seeking a Software Engineer II to help build the next generation of its Cloud Networking Control Plane - a declarative, Kubernetes-native platform that provisions and reconciles cloud networking across hundreds of AWS accounts and a growing Azure footprint. The ideal candidate is an individual contributor who delivers features end-to-end onCrossplanecompositions, Kubernetes controllers, and supporting automation. They write Go, work in Kubernetes daily, and operate AWS and Azure networking primitives at enterprise scale. The role requires proficiency in Go and solid Terraform experience, including module development, state management, plan/apply lifecycles, and drift management. Candidates should haveworkingknowledge of Kubernetes - reading manifests, understanding controllers and CRDs, and usingkubectlin production, with prior exposure to writing controllers or CRDs as a plus. Familiarity withCrossplane,kubebuilder, operator-sdk, or comparable Kubernetes-native infrastructure patterns is expected. Experience with AWS core networking (VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NACLs, VPC endpoints) is required, with Azure networking experience as a plus. Comfort with Git workflows, code review, CI/CD pipelines, Linux environments, and clear technical writing is essential.

The candidate needs to have strong software engineering fundamentals, ownership of well-scoped deliverables, and the ability to write documentation others can operate without them in the room. They must be comfortable with Go, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud networking primitives, and able to participate in on-call rotation and cross-timezonecollaboration with engineers in the U.S.
