Job summary

FactSet Hyderabad is seeking a Python engineer with 2–3 years of experience to join our fixed income team. You will develop and maintain backend services, implement new features, and participate in code reviews within an agile Scrum framework.

You should have a strong foundation in Python, relational databases (SQL Server), and AWS, plus experience with GitHub workflows and Jira/Confluence. An in-person interview in Hyderabad is expected.

Qualifications

• Engineering/computer scienceBachelor’s degree required.
• 2–3 years total experience as a Python engineer.
• Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Relational DB experience, preferably SQL Server.
• Experience with Github-based development processes and AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and resolve bugs in existing components.
• Contribute new features, fixes, and refactors to the codebase.
• Perform code reviews and coach engineers on best practices.
• Follow test-driven development in an agile environment.
• Collaborate with engineers and product developers in Scrum using Jira/Confluence.
• Work with a geographically diverse team and review docs/test plans.
• Estimate task sizes and communicate progress in standups and sprints.
• Coordinate with other teams across offices and departments.

What You’II Do

• Maintain and resolve bugs in existing components
• Contribute new features, fixes, and refactors to the existing code
• Perform code reviews and coach engineers with respect to best practices
• Work with other engineers in following the test-driven methodology in an agile environment
• Collaborate with other engineers and Product Developers in a Scrum Agile environment using Jira and Confluence
• Ability to work as part of a geographically diverse team
• Ability to create and review documentation and test plans
• Estimate task sizes and regularly communicate progress in daily standups and biweekly Scrum meetings
• Coordinate with other teams across offices and departments

What We’re Looking For

• Engineering computer science Bachelor’s degree required
• We are looking for 2-3 years of Total experience Python engineer for this role.
• Good technical, collaborative, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Relational database experience, preferably with SQL Server
• Experience with Github-based development processes
• Working experience on AWS services, Lambda, EC2, S3, AWS Glue etc.
• Proficiency with object oriented design principles
• Experience building and deploying production level services
• Organized, self-directed, and resourceful with the ability to appropriately prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to visit our Hyderabad office for an in-person interview is required.
• Nice to have skills Should be able to comprehend Python applications Work experience of Jupyter Notebooks is plus. Familiar with Agile software development (Scrum is a plus).
