A Golang Developer is responsible for building scalable, high-performance backend services that power Pocket FM's core platform. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, ownership, and the ability to develop reliable distributed systems that handle large-scale user traffic.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on backend engineer with experience in Golang, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and event-driven architectures. You will work closely with engineering teams on critical platform initiatives and contribute to building robust, production-ready services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang.
- Build and optimize APIs, microservices, and distributed systems for high availability and performance.
- Contribute to key platform migration initiatives, including:
- Media Pipeline Migration to Temporal
- Communication Platform Migration
- Work with MySQL, Kafka, and AWS to build reliable, fault-tolerant systems.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
- Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Take end-to-end ownership of features—from development and testing to deployment and monitoring.
- Continuously improve code quality, developer productivity, and engineering processes.
Candidates who demonstrate:
- 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in backend development using Golang.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience working with MySQL or other relational databases.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Experience building event‑driven systems using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and REST APIs.
- Strong debugging, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with a high level of ownership.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
What We’re Looking For
- Smart, ambitious engineers who enjoy solving complex engineering problems.
- Individuals who take ownership beyond implementation and actively contribute to the team’s success.
- Engineers who are proactive, curious, and eager to learn.
- Team players who thrive in collaborative, high‑impact environments rather than treating the role as a typical 9-to-5 job
Note
This is a 6-month contractual role, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business requirements.
- Best‑in‑class compensation.
- Opportunity to work on high‑scale products used by millions of users.
- Exposure to modern backend technologies and distributed systems.
- Learn from experienced engineers while working on critical platform migration projects.
