Job summary

Maersk in Bengaluru is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer in the Data & AI team to build data-driven business applications across UI, APIs, backend services, and data integrations. Qualifications

• BE or B Tech in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline is required.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, full-stack or backend with data-driven apps.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages.
• Experience building backend services, REST APIs, and UIs using React or Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, and modern web patterns.
• Familiarity with SQL, data flows, APIs, and analytics use cases; exposure to cloud platforms and DevOps practices is a plus.

Opportunity:

As a Full-Stack Software Engineer in the Data & AI team, you will build practical software solutions that help business users access, understand, and act on data and AI-driven insights.

You will work across user interfaces, backend services, APIs, and data integrations, with a working understanding of SQL, data flows, and analytics use cases. The role requires someone who can partner with product owners and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, build quick end-to-end prototypes, and help evolve validated solutions into production-ready products with appropriate engineering and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Application Development & Prototyping

• Design and build practical, data-driven business applications using modern software engineering practices

• Develop end-to-end solutions across UI, APIs, backend services, and data integrations

• Create quick end-to-end prototypes to validate business requirements and help evolve validated solutions into production-ready capabilities where needed

Data Engineering & Analytics Enablement

• Work with SQL, data flows, APIs, and basic pipeline concepts to integrate data into end-to-end software solutions

• Support analytics and reporting use cases by understanding data structures, business definitions, and consumption needs

• Collaborate with data engineers, platform teams, and product teams where deeper data engineering or platform expertise is required

Full-Stack Software Engineering & Platform Development

• Build scalable, secure backend services, APIs, and reusable components to support AI and data applications

• Build practical, user-friendly interfaces using React or Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern UI component libraries, and integrate them with backend APIs

• Follow modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security, and DevOps ways of working

Cross-Functional Delivery

• Work with product owners, business stakeholders, data teams, and platform teams to clarify requirements and deliver pragmatic end-to-end solutions

• Translate business requirements and user feedback into working prototypes, technical designs, and implementation plans

• Support integrations across enterprise applications where required

Operational Excellence

• Build production-ready solutions that are reliable, scalable, secure, and supportable

• Participate in DevOps ways of working, including CI/CD, monitoring, troubleshooting, support, and continuous improvement for solutions owned by the team

• Contribute to automation, observability, and operational supportability across software, data integration, and analytics-enabled solutions

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in backend, full-stack, or application development

• Ability to build usable interfaces and end-to-end applications using React or Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, APIs, and UX-aware design principles

• Curious, hands-on problem solver who is comfortable engaging with business stakeholders to understand the real requirement and deliver practical outcomes

• Comfortable moving between rapid prototyping and production-grade engineering based on business need

• Working understanding of SQL, data structures, data flows, basic pipeline concepts, APIs, and analytics use cases

• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and DevOps ways of working

Required Skills/Experience:

• BE or B Tech in Computer Science or a related science/engineering discipline

• More than 3 years of experience in software engineering, full-stack application development, or backend engineering with exposure to data-driven applications

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar

• Experience building backend services, REST APIs, and practical user interfaces using React or Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern web application patterns

• Experience with front-end practices such as reusable components, responsive layouts, browser debugging, and integration with backend APIs

• Working knowledge of SQL, data analytics concepts, and basic data pipeline or ETL/ELT processes

• Exposure to cloud platforms, CI/CD, monitoring, troubleshooting, and DevOps practices in a team-owned delivery model

• Basic knowledge of AI/ML concepts or interest in building AI-driven solutions is an advantage
