Job summary

SmartBear in Ahmedabad, India, is seeking a Software Engineer – Front End to build high-performance frontend applications using Vue 3, TypeScript, and modern tooling. Qualifications

• 4–6 years of frontend development experience.

Software Engineer – Front End

• Solve challenging business problems and build highly scalable frontend applications
• Design, document and implement new systems in Vue 3, TypeScript, and browser extension technologies

Reflect is SmartBear's AI-powered, no-code test automation platform for creating, maintaining, and running tests across web, API, and mobile applications. Reflect helps teams turn plain-English steps and recorded browser interactions into automated tests, analyze execution results, and connect automation with test management workflows. The frontend work spans the customer-facing Reflect web application and the browser instrumentation used to record user actions, capture page context, and support reliable execution.

About the Role:

As a Software Engineer (Frontend), you will play a key role in developing high-performance, responsive, and secure product experiences using Vue 3, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend tooling. This frontend role covers both the Reflect web application and the browser instrumentation code used for recording, replay, observability, and automation workflows.

You will build reusable UI components, integrate with REST and WebSocket APIs, improve test authoring and run analysis experiences, and contribute to browser automation surfaces across Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. You will collaborate with product, design, QA, backend, and automation engineers in an agile environment while contributing to implementation, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable frontend applications using Vue 3, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Build reusable UI components and maintain clean architecture.
• Integrate frontend systems with REST and WebSocket APIs.
• Develop and maintain browser extension features and instrumentation logic.
• Handle DOM events, selectors, shadow DOM, iframes, and browser APIs.
• Debug performance issues and cross-browser compatibility problems.
• Write automated tests using tools like Jest, Playwright, and Puppeteer.
• Collaborate with backend, QA, product, and design teams in Agile workflows.
• Improve UI performance, responsiveness, and user experience.
• Maintain code quality using Git, ESLint, and modern build tools.

Experience and Skills Required:

Experience

• 4–6 years of frontend development experience.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Expertise in Vue 3 (preferred) or similar frameworks.
• Experience with Vue Router, Pinia/Vuex.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, WebSockets.
• Experience with build tools like Webpack, npm, Babel.
• Knowledge of testing tools like Jest, Playwright, or Puppeteer.
• Exposure to browser extension development and DOM APIs.
• Understanding of performance optimization and security.
