Job summary

Cisco's Data Center Business Unit in Bengaluru is seeking a software engineer to design and develop distributed system software for Ethernet Switch products, with focus on L2/L3/VXLAN. You will collaborate with Hardware/ASIC teams and work on SDK development for custom ASICs to deliver scalable, reliable network solutions.

4+ years in C/C++, networking, and OS/Distributed systems is preferred, with hands-on Switch/Router software experience and strong knowledge of networking protocols.

Qualifications

• Typically requires BSEE/CS combined with 4+ years of related experience.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and experience with network programming and protocols.
• Strong working knowledge of Networking Technologies like L2/L3/VXLAN/MPLS/ACL/QOS.
• Proven understanding of Operating Systems and Distributed Systems.
• Hands on Experience in Switch/Router Software Development.
• Prior experience in developing SDK for Custom/Merchant ASIC's is a strong Plus.
• Solid experience in ACL or QOS or L2 or L3 or any networking protocol.

At Data Center Business Unit at Cisco, we are dedicated to driving innovation in networking technologies. Our focus is on developing ground breaking Ethernet Switching products that address the evolving needs of modern network infrastructures, including those in AI, cloud computing, and enterprise environments. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of core Ethernet Technologies with architectural exposure to craft and develop Ethernet Switching as applied to both Public and Private cloud infrastructure. You will work on the intricacies of the critically important infrastructure that enables the world-class, multi-layered Nexus switches.
