Job summary

Cisco Intersight is seeking an early-career Software Engineer to join the Delivery Platform Engineering team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on CI/build automation, DevSecOps, and practical software engineering to support scalable delivery pipelines for infrastructure across data centers, cloud, and edge environments.

You will develop automation, improve workflows, and collaborate with senior engineers to enhance reliability, security, and efficiency.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

We are looking for an early-career Software Engineer to join Intersight Delivery Platform Engineering. This role will start in CI/build and may contribute across DevSecOps, CI/build, and continuous delivery as team priorities evolve. The work focuses on practical software engineering, automation, troubleshooting, and operational support for the platforms and workflows used by Intersight engineering teams.

Your Impact

In this role, you will help build, maintain, and improve automation that supports secure and reliable software delivery for Intersight. You will work with experienced engineers to solve practical problems, improve developer workflows, and grow your technical depth across delivery platform engineering.

• Develop, maintain, and improve scripts, services, tools, and automation used across DevSecOps, CI/build, and continuous delivery workflows.
• Support security automation activities such as vulnerability reporting, dependency visibility, hardened image workflows, scan result tracking, and remediation follow-up.
• Support build, validation, release, and deployment automation by troubleshooting issues, improving reliability, and reducing manual operational work.
• Help investigate pipeline failures, automation defects, build issues, deployment issues, and operational alerts with guidance from senior engineers.
• Contribute to reusable automation that improves consistency, visibility, and efficiency across engineering workflows.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, testing, documentation, and runbook updates.
• Work with engineers across DevSecOps, CI, CD, SRE, and development teams to understand requirements, clarify issues, and deliver practical improvements.
• Learn and apply secure engineering, software delivery, observability, and operational support practices.
• Use AI-assisted tools and automation to improve productivity, troubleshooting, documentation, and code quality.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors + 2 years of relevant experience.
• Software development experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Basic understanding of modern software development practices, including Git-based workflows, code review, testing, and CI/CD concepts.
• Experience working in Linux environments, including command-line usage, scripting, troubleshooting, or basic system administration.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, learn unfamiliar systems, and work through problems with guidance from senior engineers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document work clearly and collaborate with technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python automation, REST APIs, command-line tools, or workflow automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools or developer platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, or similar systems.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or cloud-native application patterns.
• Familiarity with security concepts such as vulnerabilities, dependency management, secrets handling, access control, secure coding, or supply chain security.
• Familiarity with deployment automation, release workflows, infrastructure automation, or configuration management tools.
• Exposure to monitoring, logging, observability, or dashboarding tools such as Splunk, ElasticSearch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar platforms.
• Experience applying AI-assisted tools or agent-based workflows to improve engineering productivity, troubleshooting, automation, or documentation.
