Job summary

GrabDefence team in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design backend systems powering defence and security solutions for Grab's platform. You will work with engineers, product managers, data scientists, and security partners to build scalable, efficient, and secure infrastructure that protects users and the organisation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related work experience in a similar capacity.
• Proficiency in GoLang for developing and enhancing software applications.
• Architecture mindset: Experience designing scalable and maintainable architectures.
• Experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies to manage tasks.
• Automation: Proficiency in using tools and scripting to automate repetitive tasks.
• Code Reviews: Experience conducting code reviews to maintain high-quality coding standards.
• Experience analysing complex issues and solving them.
• Experience collaborating and communicating updates with multiple teams for partnership.
• Experience in Security Practices understanding best practices for coding and security guidelines.

You will work with a talented team of engineers to build scalable, efficient, and secure infrastructure that protects our users and organisation.

Get to Know the Role:

As a Backend Software Engineer on the GrabDefence team, you will help develop the backend systems that protect Grab's platform, users, and financial ecosystem. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, learning from experienced teammates, and contributing to products that operate at large-scale. You will be reporting to Senior Software Engineering Manager, Trust. You will work with software engineers, product managers, data scientists, and security partners. Together, you will develop services that power capabilities such as name screening, transaction screening, fraud detection and prevention, and other risk management solutions. In addition to building new features, you will help ensure our systems remain reliable through operational support, maintenance, bug fixing, and participation in the team's on-call rotation.We are looking for someone with a engineering foundation, curiosity to learn, and experience building scalable, reliable backend systems. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, of your work, and both the products you build and your technical skills. The company bases this role in Bangalore.
