Job summary

Amtech is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud API & Label Traxx team, driving the AWS-hosted Cloud API development and modernization of the Label Traxx ERP platform for packaging and printing industries.

This role requires strong enterprise app development experience, deep business logic understanding, and hands-on AWS, SQL/NoSQL, and CI/CD expertise, with mentoring responsibilities and a focus on reliable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in enterprise software development.
• Strong OO programming experience (C#/.NET preferred).
• Hands-on AWS exposure and experience with API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, S3.
• Experience with ERP/enterprise systems is a plus.

Role Description

Amtech is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud API & Label Traxx engineering team, driving the ongoing development of our AWS-hosted Cloud API and the modernization of our flagship Label Traxx ERP platform, a mature enterprise system serving the packaging and printing industries.

This role owns complex, ambiguous engineering problems within the team, driving technical quality and best practices across system design, scalable architecture, testing, reliability, and secure engineering spanning both the .NET/AWS-based Cloud API and our legacy 4D-based application. Prior 4D or AWS experience is not required, but the ability to quickly learn and work within established and evolving architectures is essential.

The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise application development experience, deep understanding of business logic-driven systems, solid relational database skills, and working familiarity with cloud infrastructure. Over time, this role will take on greater ownership of the Cloud API’s AWS environment as the platform continues to modernize.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own projects or major features end-to-end across the Cloud API (.NET /C#, AWS) and Label Traxx ERP (4D) platforms, driving delivery predictability and measurable business outcomes.
• Drive technical quality and best practices across system design, scalable architecture, code quality, testing, reliability, maintainability, and secure engineering.
• Analyze and extend complex business logic across operational workflows such as order management, production, inventory, and finance.
• Work within Amtech’s AWS environment (API Gateway, ECS Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, Secrets Manager) to build, deploy, and troubleshoot Cloud API services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring high system reliability and performance across both platforms.
• Mentor engineers consistently and help shape team-level engineering standards and practices.
• Design and optimize database queries (relational and NoSQL) while maintaining strong data integrity standards.
• Align with Product, QA, and Support teams by communicating decisions, trade-offs, risks, and implementation plans clearly.
• Participate in code reviews and manage pull requests using GitHub best practices; contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements.
• Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies and backlog tracking using Jira.
• Promote effective use of AI-assisted development tools to enhance engineering efficiency and quality.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in enterprise software development.
• Strong object-oriented programming experience (C#/.NET preferred; Java or similar acceptable).
• Working experience with AWS cloud services (API Gateway, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, or similar) - hands-on API/AWS exposure required.
• Experience working on complex ERP, manufacturing, financial, or other business-critical systems.
• Strong relational database experience (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or equivalent); exposure to NoSQL data stores a plus.
• Solid understanding of transactional systems, data modeling, and scalable service architecture.
• Experience maintaining and modernizing legacy or monolithic applications.
• Hands-on experience with Git-based version control (GitHub preferred) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams using Jira or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to mentor peers and influence team practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex) is a plus.
