Job summary

Synthires in India is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer for an hourly contract focused on frontier AI coding models. You will evaluate AI-generated backend implementations and assess engineering quality to improve performance.

The role requires building and reviewing REST APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-based apps; proficiency in Python/Java/Go and experience with AI coding tools is a plus. Weekly payments and flexible part-time engagement offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional Backend Engineering experience.
• Experience building REST APIs, distributed systems, microservices, backend platforms, databases, or cloud-based applications.
• Strong programming experience with Python, Java, Go, Node.js, C#, or similar languages.
• Regular experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, backend design patterns, debugging, testing, and performance optimization.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated code and identify implementation issues, edge cases, and architectural tradeoffs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prior experience with AI model evaluation or code review projects.
