Unified Notification Platform team under Core Platform Organization, is responsible for enabling all PayPal businesses to reach out to their customers and merchants through various channels like SMS, Email, Push Notifications, Alerts and Webhooks. We are a platform team churning out billions of notifications every month via large scale distributed system.

Essential Responsibilities

• Implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staff
• Follows well-established internal conventions and standard procedures
• Understand internal standards & processes an applies them to make technical decisions
• Collaborates with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutions
• May contribute to code & design reviews

Minimum Qualifications

• 1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications

• In this role you will navigate through complex architecture and designs and develop features to enhance the platform functionally as well as create stability. You will interface with multiple stakeholders to gain understanding of the business and customer ask.

What do you need to bring

• 1-4 years of experience in the software development.
• Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, knowledge of object oriented design, Design Patterns and multi-threaded programming.
• Strong OOP skills, with ability to analyse requirements and transform into scalable software designs.
• Experience with HTTP, REST API's and competent designing and building web services/microservices in a commercial setting.
• Competent in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability and performance.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Hands on Java Programming Expertise (Core Java, J2EE, Spring framework)
• Hands on Building Restful Services.
• Follow coding and design best practices.
• Experience working on SQL, NoSQL solutions with clear understanding of pros and cons of both relational & free form databases.
• Knowledge and a particular interest in issues related to large scale distributed stream processing, real-time computation systems.
• Ability to determine impact of architectural solutions and come up with Recommendations.
• Design, architect and build data systems and pipelines.
• Ability to navigate org boundaries and work fairly independently with limited handholding.
• Exhibit one team behaviour and work with several stakeholders and team members cohesively.
• Experience in pair programming with AI.
