Job summary

NatWest Group in Bengaluru is seeking a Software Engineer to design and ship scalable user-facing features using React 18 and TypeScript 5. You’ll collaborate with a network of stakeholders and work across frontend, API and data layers to enable mortgage pricing and profitability modelling.

In this role you’ll contribute to a microfrontend architecture, implement robust tests with Playwright and Jest, and support CI/CD pipelines while continuously improving code quality and performance.

Qualifications

• Must have strong full-stack engineering experience with frontend focus.
• Proficiency in React 18, TypeScript 5, and modern frontend practices.
• Experience with Snowflake, SQL, REST APIs and data integration patterns.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving across frontend, API, and data layers.

Responsibilities

• Build user-facing features using React 18 and TypeScript 5.
• Develop and integrate APIs using Python/FastAPI or similar.
• Collaborate with principal engineers and architects to align platform with business goals.
• Design data grids, forms, and modeling workflows with Material UI and TanStack Table, RTK Query.
• Manage application state with Redux Toolkit and RTK Query.
• Develop within a microfrontend architecture using Module Federation.
• Write automated tests using Playwright, Jest and React Testing Library.
• Support CI/CD, production deployments and ongoing application support.
• Collaborate with Pricing Managers, analysts and engineers to deliver modelling capabilities.

What you'll do

Working in a permanent feature team, you’ll be building user-facing features using React 18 and TypeScript 5, developing and integrating APIs using Python/FastAPI or similar backend technologies. You’ll also be liaising with principal engineers, architects in the domain and other key stakeholders to understand how the platform works and how it supports business objectives.

You’ll also be:

• Working with Snowflake and analytical data services to support mortgage pricing and profitability modelling
• Designing complex data grids, calculations, forms and modelling workflows using Material UI, TanStack Table and React Hook Form
• Managing application state using Redux Toolkit, RTK Query and injected stores
• Developing within a microfrontend architecture using Module Federation
• Writing automated tests using Playwright, Jest and React Testing Library
• Supporting CI/CD, production deployments and ongoing application support
• Collaborating with Pricing Managers, analysts and engineers to deliver modelling and forecasting capabilities

The skills you\'ll need

We’re looking for someone with strong full-stack engineering experience along with deep frontend expertise and the ability to build secure, reliable and maintainable applications. You’ll also need proficiency in React 18, TypeScript 5 and modern frontend engineering practices. Experience working with Snowflake, SQL, REST APIs and data integration patterns is mandatory. You\'ll be expected to have strong debugging and problem-solving skills across frontend, API and data layers.

Additionally, you’ll demonstrate:

• Strong experience with Redux Toolkit, including dynamic reducer injection, RTK Query, useSelector and useDispatch
• Experience with Material UI v6, DataGrid, Date Pickers, Emotion, TanStack Table, React Hook Form and complex business workflows
• Experience with Webpack 5, Babel and Module Federation architectures
• Experience with Playwright, Jest, React Testing Library and MSW
• Experience with Git, GitLab CI/CD and Linux/WSL development environments
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
