Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking a Software Developer – CFD Post Processing to join the Simcenter HyperMesh CFD team. You will design, develop, and enhance GUI-based software for CFD workflows, using C/C++ and scripting to automate tasks, while collaborating with CFD experts and users across Linux and Windows environments.

Key responsibilities include building intuitive interfaces, solving complex engineering problems, and delivering robust product capabilities.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Strong hands-on programming in C/C++, with the ability to develop maintainable and production-quality software.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Tcl scripting for automation, customization, and engineering workflows.
• Experience developing GUI-based applications, with good UI design and patterns.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate requirements into software.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Windows, multiplatform development.

Simcenter HyperMesh CFD is a powerful pre- and post-processing solution for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), designed to help engineers efficiently prepare models, generate high-quality meshes, and analyze complex simulation results.

We are looking for a Software Developer – CFD Post Processing to join our development team and contribute to the continued evolution of the Simcenter HyperMesh CFD (HMCFD) interface.

In this role, you will design, develop, and enhance GUI-based software capabilities used by engineers working with advanced CFD workflows. You will work closely with software developers, CFD experts, and users to understand technical requirements and translate them into intuitive, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.

The role provides an opportunity to work across C/C++, Python, Tcl, GUI technologies, CFD, and engineering software, while contributing to a product used in complex engineering workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop core product capabilities: Design, implement, test, and enhance software features for the HMCFD graphical user interface using C/C++ and appropriate software engineering practices.
• Build intuitive engineering interfaces: Develop and maintain GUI functionality that enables engineers to efficiently prepare CFD models, interact with simulation data, and perform pre- and post-processing activities.
• Solve complex technical problems: Analyze user and product requirements, investigate technical challenges, and develop robust, maintainable solutions for complex engineering workflows.
• Develop automation and customization: Use Python and Tcl scripting to automate workflows, customize solutions, and improve productivity for specific CFD applications and user requirements.
• Collaborate across engineering teams: Work closely with software developers, CFD specialists, product teams, and users to understand requirements and deliver effective product capabilities.
• Ensure software quality: Perform development-level testing and QA activities, troubleshoot defects, and contribute to maintaining the reliability and usability of the product.
• Support product adoption: Contribute to technical documentation, user tutorials, and other technical content that helps customers and internal users effectively utilize HMCFD capabilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong hands‑on programming experience in C/C++, with the ability to develop maintainable and production‑quality software.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Tcl scripting for automation, customization, and engineering workflows.
• Experience developing GUI-based applications, with a good understanding of user interface design and software interaction patterns.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to understand complex requirements and translate them into practical software solutions.
• Working knowledge of both Linux and Windows operating systems and experience developing or supporting software in a multiplatform environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with software developers, engineering experts, and end users.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Qt and/or OpenGL.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and common CFD workflows.
• Experience with Simcenter HyperWorks or other CAE/engineering software.
• Experience with CAD modeling or visualization software.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM) and structural analysis.
• Experience developing software for engineering, scientific, simulation, or visualization applications.
• Familiarity with scripting-driven engineering workflows and application customization.
