Job summary

Zebra Technologies in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced Android Camera Developer to design, develop, and optimize camera features within the Android stack, with mandatory CAMX stack experience.

You will work on Camera2/CameraX APIs, image processing libraries, and ML-in-camera pipelines, collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality, robust camera solutions for a global user base. The role demands strong C++, Java, and performance-tuning skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with Android camera APIs (Camera2/CameraX).
• Experience with image processing libraries (OpenCV, Glide).
• Mandatory hands-on CAMX stack experience and debugging.
• Experience running ML models in camera pipeline on DSP/GPU.
• Familiarity with camera tuning concepts preferred.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for an experienced Android Camera Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and integrating camera features into Android stack. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing camera functionalities to deliver high-quality user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Camera Features:Design and implement camera functionalities in Android application, Qualcomm Camx Stack for various advanced camera use cases. Mandatory to have hands on experience on Qualcomm CAMX Stack – Feature implementation.

Optimization:Optimize camera performance and image processing to ensure high-quality output.

Debugging:Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to camera features.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establishes requirements for highly complex software design projects and provides leadership in defining project scope and objectives


• Architects and designs software for highly complex systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and technical standards


• Leads and participates in all phases of software development projects, including in process and final inspections to maintain quality


• Conducts and oversees code reviews, implementing technical and quality improvements to ensure robust solutions


• Develops innovative programs, technologies, and solutions; documenting methodologies for broader team use


• Provides technical leadership across multiple engineering disciplines, leveraging expertise to influence program direction and outcomes


• Designs and develops advanced tools to aid in solving complex technical challenges and improving team efficiency


• Fosters cross-company collaboration and builds strong relationships with other engineering disciplines to drive innovation and project success

Qualifications:

Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience:

Proven experience with Android camera APIs (Camera2, CameraX).

Experience with image processing libraries (e.g., OpenCV, Glide).

Familiarity with multimedia frameworks (e.g., FFmpeg).

MANDATORY – Hands on Experience with Qualcomm CAMX stack. Feature implementation and debugging.

Hands on experience on running ML models in camera pipeline on DSP, GPU etc

Understanding of camera tuning concepts preferred.

Skills:

Proficiency in C++, Java is added advantage.

Strong understanding of Android Camera API’s

Strong understanding of CAMX Stack

Experience with threading and performance tuning.

Familiarity with ML/AI is added advantage.

Tools:

Proficient with Android Studio and version control systems (Git).

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

Soft Skills:

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
