Job summary

HSBC Software Development India is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team. You will contribute to end-to-end development, deployment, and documentation across microservices and cloud environments.

The role requires strong Java 11+ and JavaScript skills, with experience in Spring, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD tools. Collaboration with regional teams and stakeholders is essential for delivering high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
• Total 5+ years hands-on experience with Java 11+ and React/Node JS.
• Good knowledge of Redis and event messaging (Kafka) and cloud Pub/Sub.
• Experience with micro-service oriented applications and RESTful API design.
• Exposure to DevOps tools (Maven, GitLab, JIRA) and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Proactively communicating risks, status updates to stakeholders.
• Work closely with team, regional counterparts & ITPM during project execution.
• Ensure high quality deliveries, follow all required processes.

In this role, you will

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering. Total 5+ years hands-on experience with Java11 & above and react JS/Node JS; Core Spring / Spring Boot 3.xHTML/Javascript/Groove
• Good knowledge on Redis ; Event and messaging - Kafka, GCP Pub/subJunit, Mockito, CucumberJenkins, Git, SonarQube experience.Understanding with RESTful API design
• 1+ years Database Design/Stored Procedure/SQL development (Oracle, PostgreSQL etc.)Sound understanding of object-oriented analysis, design and programming
• Experience in the development of micro-service oriented applications
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to deliver technical messages to a non-technical audience
• Excellent trouble‑shooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and document the root cause of issues, and effectively communicate possible resolutions
• DevOps Tool- Maven, GitLab, JIRA, Agile , CI/CD pipeline Cloud Knowledge on AWS /Google
