Job summary

Birlasoft is seeking a Senior Engineer – Agentic AI to design, build, and optimize advanced AI systems using Microsoft Foundry and AWS Bedrock. The role requires strong Python, GenAI architectures, and hands-on experience with LLM-powered agents.

You will work across cloud-native architectures, implement RAG workflows and guardrails, and mentor juniors while partnering with product teams to deliver secure, scalable GenAI solutions.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• 1+ years in AI/GenAI engineering
• Strong Python, APIs, microservices, cloud-native design
• Experience with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, RAG pipelines
• Knowledge of AI fundamentals, ML algorithms, probability, optimization
• Deep understanding of Agentic AI principles, tool orchestration, autonomous task execution
• Experience with Microsoft Foundry (Azure AI Studio / Fabric) and/or AWS Bedrock

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy agentic AI workflows, autonomous agents, and multi-agent systems

Job Description: Senior Engineer – Agentic AI

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer – Agentic AI to design, build, and optimize advanced AI and agentic systems using Microsoft Foundry and/or AWS Bedrock. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, AI/ML fundamentals, GenAI architectures, and hands‑on experience in deploying secure, scalable LLM‑powered agents. Industry-recognized certifications in cloud, AI, or machine learning are preferred.

Experience and hands on with infrastructure services like landing zone , IaaS & PaaS workload with azure and or aws cloud services

Key Responsibilities

AI & Agentic Systems Development

• Design, develop, and deploy agentic AI workflows, autonomous decision‑making agents, and multi‑agent systems.
• Build solutions leveraging Microsoft Foundry (Fabric, Azure AI Studio) or AWS Bedrock for LLM orchestration, grounding, and controllability.
• Implement context management, memory, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and tool‑calling workflows for agentic systems.

Engineering & Architecture

• Architect scalable, resilient, and secure AI systems using modern cloud-native principles.
• Develop high‑quality, optimized code primarily in Python, leveraging modern ML and GenAI frameworks.
• Drive performance tuning, latency optimization, cost optimization, and observability for GenAI workloads.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure solutions follow enterprise-grade AI security, data governance, responsible AI, and model safety principles.
• Implement guardrails, content filters, prompt security measures, and evaluation frameworks to prevent hallucinations and injection attacks.

Modeling & Optimization

• Evaluate and compare LLMs, embedding models, and multimodal models for various enterprise use cases.
• Optimize model performance using techniques like quantization, distillation, prompt engineering, and fine‑tuning (where applicable).
• Partner with product teams, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical AI solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to establishing best practices, design patterns, and reusable accelerators.
• Stay updated with emerging trends in GenAI, LLMs, foundation models, and agentic automation.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to perform customer demonstration , lead use‑case workshops
• 9+ years of hands‑on experience in software engineering, with at least 1+ years in AI/GenAI engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native design.
• Demonstrated experience with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG pipelines.
• Practical knowledge of AI fundamentals, ML algorithms, probability, optimization, and LLM architecture.
• Deep understanding of Agentic AI principles, agent design patterns, tool orchestration, and autonomous task execution.
• Experience with Microsoft Foundry (Azure AI Studio / Fabric) and/or AWS Bedrock for building GenAI applications.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)

• Certifications such as:
• AWS Machine Learning Specialty / Bedrock credentials
• Google Professional ML Engineer
