Job summary

A leading eCommerce growth company in Pune is seeking a dynamic developer with over 4 years of experience in Ruby on Rails. You will work closely with a team to deliver innovative eCommerce SaaS applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong skills in Object-Oriented Design and have a solid understanding of database management systems. We're looking for a dynamic, people oriented, highly analytical person to join our development team in Pattern’s Pune office. This role will work on a team of 4-6 engineers to develop and maintain Pattern’s eCommerce SaaS applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with development teams to ideate software solutions
  • Contribute to design and implementation of the overall web architecture
  • Develop and manage highly reliable and scalable databases and applications
  • Lead project progress and management by defining and achieving goals
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies with a global team
  • Design and implementation of continuous integration and deployment
  • Solve problems with alternative approaches and in consultation with stakeholders
  • Working effectively with a team, encourage innovation & best practices
  • Participate in hiring process by taking interviews, referring candidates
Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of proven work experience in Ruby and Railsdevelopment
  • 2-4 years of experience in Object Oriented Design using more than one programming language like Python, C, C#, Java, PHP, Go, TypeScript, Node.js. This is in addition to the Ruby and Rails development experience mentioned above.
  • Proficiency with more than one DBMS (e.g. Postgres, MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.)
  • Excellent understanding of REST concepts and familiarity with the Richardson Maturity Model of REST services
  • Exposure to SRE / DevOps practices
  • Deep expertise in object-oriented development, including strong knowledge ofdesign patterns and design principles
  • Appreciation for clean and well documented code
  • Understanding of messaging concepts and technologies, such as Active MQ, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, AWS SNS etc.
  • Experience in writingautomated unit tests
  • Precise attention to details.
  • An eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • One or more years of experience with e-commerce platforms
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Previous experience working in a high-stakes business environment
  • Experience in collaborating with remote teams
