Job summary

Ontic invites a backend Software Engineer to join our Pune team. You will design and maintain scalable services in Java/Spring Boot, working with high-volume data and modern search/storage stacks.

You’ll participate in the full product lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build high-performance applications capable of processing large volumes of data.
• Design and optimize APIs, data models, and backend architecture.
• Work with Elasticsearch and MongoDB to build efficient search and data storage solutions.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and QA teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve application performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Take ownership of features from design through deployment and support.

What You’ll Do

Nice to Have

• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
