Job summary

ASPIRE IITB Research Park Foundation is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to develop modern, scalable web applications using Python, Django, React.js, and TypeScript. You will work across the full SDLC, deploying and maintaining solutions on AWS and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong PostgreSQL skills, RESTful API experience, and a solid background in front-end development with Tailwind CSS.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web apps using Python, Django, React.js and TypeScript.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs with front-end apps.
• Develop responsive UIs with React/TypeScript and Tailwind CSS.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including indexing and queries.
• Deploy and maintain apps on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, Lambda).
• Develop CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and other developers.
• Write clean, well-documented code and conduct code reviews.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and adhere to coding standards.

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Software Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in developing modern, scalable web applications using Python, Django, React.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, PostgreSQL, and AWS. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on experience across the full software development lifecycle, from designing and building applications to deploying and maintaining them using GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build high-quality, secure, and performant applications while following modern development practices and coding standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications using Python, Django, React.js, and TypeScript.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs with responsive front-end applications.
• Develop intuitive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces using React.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Design, develop, and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on AWS using services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, or Lambda.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD to automate build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality, security, and development standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in Python and the Django framework.
• Hands‑on experience with React.js and TypeScript.
• Experience building responsive user interfaces using Tailwind CSS.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design, SQL development, and performance optimization.
• Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, GitLab, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Good understanding of software architecture, object‑oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, API security, and secure coding practices.

Skills and Expertise:

• Experience with Docker and containerized application development.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, or Amazon EKS.
• Knowledge of asynchronous task processing using Celery and Redis.
• Experience with Nginx, Gunicorn, or reverse proxy configurations.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as PyTest, Django Test Framework, Jest, or React Testing Library.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack.
• Knowledge of modern front-end build tools such as Vite or Webpack.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
