Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. seeks an experienced Salesforce Developer to deliver state-of-the-art Digital Salesforce projects from design through deployment. You will work on complex integration tasks and build a platform aligned with CAT Digital Strategy in a global team.

Required are 5+ years of Salesforce experience, expertise across Sales/Service/Marketing Clouds, and strong API, JavaScript, and data governance skills, plus excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Salesforce developer experience with 1+ certs; architect certs are a plus.
• Hands-on with Salesforce major platforms: Sales Cloud / Service Cloud / Marketing Cloud / Communities.
• Experience with APEX, Visualforce, LWC; API programming and integration.
• Strong knowledge of data governance and relational databases.

Roles And Responsibilities

• As a Software Engineer, you will be playing a key role to deliver Caterpillar’s state-of-the-art Digital Salesforce projects from design, development, configuration to deployment.
• This position will build a world class platform while delivering against the common department goals in line with CAT Digital Strategy.
• Competent to perform programming and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work.
• Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution
• Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems.
• Drives application development and product support focused around delivering business valuable features
• Maintains high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
• Identifies and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
• Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results.
• Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.
• The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Based on past experiences and knowledge, the Software Engineer normally works independently with minimal management input and review of end results.

Technical Skills

• Must have atleast 5+ years of professional experience as Salesforce Developer preferably with more than one Salesforce Certification. Architect Certifications are added advantage.
• Solid experience working with clients across cloud transformation projects with focus on at least 2 of the Salesforce major platforms (Sales Cloud / Service Cloud / Marketing Cloud / Communities)
• Experience in holistic SFDC solutions with a customer 360-degree view, and personalized services, B2C Commerce & marketing would be advantageous
• Proven experience with APEX, Visualforce pages, LWC. API programming, JavaScript, HTML, CSS or HTML5; in integration of 3rd party applications into Salesforce using both Web based technologies (Soap, Rest API) and integration / Middleware and Cl/CD automated jobs using Jenkins.
• Good understanding of Salesforce Configurations, Profiles, Flows and customizations
• Solid understanding of relational databases, data governance, and management best practices.
• Experience with common integration patterns used between legacy systems to integrate with Salesforce platform
• Experience in Agile Methodology or SDLC practices; in delivering component, product, and/or enterprise architecture in public cloud and/or hybrid eco-systems
• Understanding of enterprise data integration and analytical platforms

Functional Skills

• Experience and domain knowledge in the manufacturing or automotive industries would be an added advantage
• Demonstrated ability to adapt and learn new technologies, and be passionate in updated trends
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
• Excellent command of English with the ability to communicate professionally
