Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience with a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficient in Python and REST APIs; familiarity with Java fundamentals encouraged.
• Working knowledge of core AWS services and cloud-native patterns.
• IaC tooling experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiar with Git, PRs, code reviews, and CI/CD concepts.
• Comfort with Linux CLI and shell scripting, in Linux environments.
• Awareness of AI concepts and practical applications in development.

Your Role

As a Software Engineer on our Data Platform Engineering team, you will play a hands-on role in building and maintaining the infrastructure that enables the entire organization to discover, publish, and govern data products at scale. This is an opportunity to grow your engineering skills in a modern cloud-native environment, working alongside experienced engineers on a platform that sits at the heart of how the organization manages and trusts its data. You will contribute to the development of Python-based data integration workflows, help maintain and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, and write infrastructure-as-code to provision and manage cloud resources on Amazon Web Services. You will participate in code reviews and architecture discussions, collaborate with data product teams and platform stakeholders, and support the reliability and developer experience of a platform used across the organization. From day one, you will work in an environment where artificial intelligence tools are part of the everyday engineering workflow from code generation and debugging to documentation and exploratory analysis. You will be encouraged to actively use these tools, share what you learn, and bring curiosity about how artificial intelligence can change what is possible in your role.

Who You Are

• You have 0- 2 years of experience and hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or bring equivalent practical experience
• You are comfortable writing clean, maintainable Python modules and working with REST APIs; familiarity with Java fundamentals and the ability to navigate Java or Spring codebases is a plus.
• You have working knowledge of core Amazon Web Services such as Elastic Kubernetes Service, Relational Database Service, Simple Storage Service, Glue, Identity and Access Management, Virtual Private Cloud, and CloudFront.
• You have exposure to infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform or CloudFormation, with an understanding of plan and apply workflows and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• You are familiar with Git branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline concepts.
• You are comfortable using the command line, writing basic shell scripts, and troubleshooting in Linux-based environments.
• You demonstrate an understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and tools including how large language models work, their practical applications in a development context, and the ethical considerations around their use and you actively apply this knowledge to accelerate your work and make informed, responsible decisions.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containerized deployments, data governance platforms, or Agile engineering teams is a welcome addition.
