Purpose of the role: To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high‑quality software solutions using industry‑aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
• Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimised for performance.
• Cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

Java AWS Engineer Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large‑scale applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop unit tests to ensure high code quality and maturity metrics.
• Implement scalable solutions using scaled agile methodologies.
• Ensure seamless integration with various stakeholders' systems (business, tech, and product).
• Take ownership of AWS architecture and operations, including EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS, and IAM.
• Implement Automation and Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Design and build cloud architecture and design, ensuring security compliance.
• Utilise CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, or GitLab to streamline delivery of new features and fixes.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Java.
• Work with Linux, networking, routing, and firewalls.
• Mentor and guide junior team members.
