Job Description – Software Engineer (Python)

Summary

Candidate should have experience in full stack development and can create and maintain web applications and APIs that interact with automation solutions. The engineer should also be proficient in programming languages such as Python and Go and can use them to create and modify automation scripts and applications.

Python Must have 10/10 – The candidate should be exceptional in Python or Go.

In addition to coding, the candidate should be an expert in Any one of the domains:

• Observability – Maintaining platforms such as Victoria Metrics, Victoria Logs, Grafana Loki, Grafana, Alert Manager; all enabled with CI/CD, deployed on On-Prem & AWS Cloud
• Asset Management – Maintaining platforms such as Nautobot, building services to improve Asset Inventory Quality, Coverage, Service Mapping (Application to Infrastructure relationships)
• Configuration Management – Maintaining platforms such as Ansible Automation Platform and Salt Stack. Merely knowing Ansible or Salt will not be helpful; the candidate should demonstrate expertise in maintaining AAP/ Salt Stack with automation & onboarding.
• Willing to work in 12-hour shifts.
• Weekend on-call (mostly no work, just being available in case of an incident)
• 5+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scripts and workflows for various IT processes and systems, both on-premises and in the cloud.
• Integrate solutions with existing IT tools and platforms such as cloud services, databases, servers, networks, security systems, etc.
• Monitor and troubleshoot automation issues and perform root cause analysis and resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python and Go, Django and Flask to develop scalable web applications and APIs.
• Proficient in any automation tools and technologies such as Ansible, Salt, PowerShell, Python, etc.
• Knowledge of IT systems and processes, both on-premises and in the cloud, such as cloud services, databases, servers, networks, security systems, etc.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
• Experience in one or more tools such as Victoria Metrics, Nautobot, Salt Stack, Ansible, Grafana, BigPanda and Loki.
