Amazon Financials Foundation Services (AFFS) in Maharashtra invites a hands-on Manager to lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for scalable, reliable, and secure financial systems across Amazon.

You will mentor engineers, define roadmaps, collaborate with Retail, Marketplace, Web services, and Financial systems teams, and drive excellence in development, monitoring, and operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

As a Manager here, you will lead your team of high performing engineers to build, scale, monitor, and optimize systems within AFFS. You will interface with several teams including Retail Systems, Marketplace Systems, Digital Systems, Web services, Financial systems and operations. Our mission is to provide a world-class customer experience using scalable and robust software, so the challenges and opportunities span both the business and technical realms. A successful candidate will be a hands on manager with an established background in developing high volume and highly available services, strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
