Job summary
Zscaler is seeking a Manager, Software Development Engineering to join our ZTC engineering team in Bengaluru. This is a hybrid role based in our Bangalore office, reporting to the Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering.
You will lead the charge in securing cloud communications, driving engineering excellence, and delivering high-impact services across Cloud Connector, ZT Gateway, and Microsegmentation clouds.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software development experience with at least 2 years building high-performance, distributed SaaS platforms at cloud scale.
- Expert-level knowledge of networking protocols (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS) and firewall policy enforcement.
- Extensive experience with cloud networking infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including transit gateways, IGW, NATGW, NACL, and security groups.
- Proven track record in hiring, developing, and retaining engineering talent in fast-paced environments.
- Strong proficiency in Agile (Kanban/Scrum) and Jira for project execution.

- Lead end-to-end development, testing, deployment, and monitoring of critical services across Cloud Connector, ZT Gateway, and Microsegmentation clouds.
- Drive the India development team and participate as a strategic member of the global ZTC leadership team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to manage priorities and aggressive timelines, aligning local and remote teams.
- mentor engineers, oversee code reviews and build processes to scale impact.

We are looking for a Manager, Software Development Engineering to join our ZTC (Zero Trust for Cloud) engineering team. This is a hybrid role based in our Bangalore office at least 3 days a week, reporting to the Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering. ZTC provides Zero Trust Security for workloads (ZTW) for cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-private datacenter traffic, as well as Zscaler Microsegmentation (ZMS) for both public and private datacenters. You will lead the charge in securing cloud communications and driving engineering excellence in a high-stakes environment.
- Lead the end-to-end development, testing, deployment, and monitoring of critical services across our Cloud Connector, ZT Gateway, and Microsegmentation clouds
- Drive the success of the local India development team while serving as a strategic member of the global ZTC leadership team
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to manage shifting priorities, maintain aggressive timelines, and ensure seamless collaboration between local and remote teams
- Lead by example through hands-on technical involvement, mentoring engineers to scale their impact while overseeing code reviews and build processes
- Maintain a relentless customer-first mindset by participating in technical escalations and beta trials to deliver a world-class product experience

- 10+ years of software development experience with at least 2 years dedicated to building high-performance, distributed SaaS platforms at cloud scale
- Expert-level command of networking protocols including DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, and SSL/TLS, alongside deep knowledge of firewall policy enforcement
- Extensive experience navigating cloud networking infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), specifically with transit gateways, IGW, NATGW, NACL, and security groups
- A proven track record of hiring, developing, and retaining top-tier engineering talent within a fast-paced environment
- Strong proficiency in Agile collaboration models such as Kanban or Scrum and experience utilizing Jira for project execution
- Advanced experience in architecting complex distributed systems and large-scale SaaS solutions
- Mastery of specialized firewall technologies and sophisticated networking traffic forwarding rules
- In-depth technical certification or specialized knowledge in a specific CSP environment such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
