Job summary

DTCC is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in Hyderabad to design, develop, and maintain automated tests across the delivery lifecycle, coordinating with product owners, developers, and QA teams. The role emphasizes test automation, framework development, and ensuring quality throughout the SDLC in a hybrid onsite/offsite setup.

The successful candidate will have 1+ year of testing experience, strong scripting in Java/Python, and familiarity with CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests across the delivery lifecycle
• Contribute to the design of the automation framework and enhancement
• Prepare, maintain and execute test cases based on user stories; present results and track defects to closure
• Maintain traceability from business requirements through test cases to automated scripts
• Review test cases / automation approach with stakeholder to ensure comprehensive coverage and obtain feedback
• Track test execution milestones, report on issues and risks with the potential to affect project timelines
• Construct appropriate end-2-end business scenarios through the application of a broad understanding of business objectives and goals
• Responsible for Delivery Pipeline adoption
• Identify dependencies for environmental and data requirements.
• Contribute to standard framework of reusable functions
• Develop a basic understanding of the product being delivered
• Responsible for process compliance & associated documentation
• Collaborate with internal and external teams on development, testing, troubleshooting, and improve overall software quality

The Impact you will have in this role:

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role is responsible for ensuring that all applications, system products, projects, and solutions meet defined enterprise quality standards. Provide centralized, independent quality assurance services across the firm, including functional and non-functional testing for all products, services, and applications across businesses. Design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions, providing testing expertise, oversight, and direction to ensure the functionality of solutions and that design specifications are met.

Working closely with Product Owners, developers, architects, and stakeholders, the SDET contributes throughout the software development lifecycle by defining test approaches, validating solutions, designing and improving test automation frameworks and supporting quality improvements. The role also helps ensure compliance with security and organizational standards while promoting test automation and quality best practices.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests across the delivery lifecycle
• Contribute to the design of the automation framework and enhancement

Talents Needed for Success:

• Hands-on experience coordinating end-to-end testing, UAT, and release readiness for platform capabilities, integrations, and insights.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc. as well as CI/CD technologies (e.g. Bitbucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, Git, JUnit, Jira etc.) including designing, extending, and maintaining reusable framework components.
• Detailed understanding of smoke testing, black-box, and non-black box testing, as well as regression testing.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and techniques, including unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing
• Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools for test generation, self-healing locators, or intelligent test maintenance is a strong plus.
• Experience in Software Development
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, etc.)
• Knowledge of Databases and SQL preferred.
• Experience in writing sophisticated SQL queries.
• Experienced in Agile/Waterfall, onsite/offshore work model and coordination.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
