Job summary

Amadeus Hospitality in Bengaluru is seeking a Software Development Engineer - Java to design, build, and maintain distributed Java applications. You will develop scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, implement REST APIs, and ensure high performance and reliability in a cloud environment.

You will work with Kafka, Kubernetes, and NoSQL data models, participate in code reviews, mentor teammates, and lead Agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in software development using Java.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and modern frameworks.
• Experience with distributed systems, performance tuning, and fault tolerance.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
• Exposure to messaging/streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
• Skills in NoSQL data modeling (Couchbase or similar technologies).
• Understanding of containerized deployments and Kubernetes.
• Comfortable supporting production environments and participating in on-call rotations when needed.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and facilitating team collaboration (Scrum Master experience is a plus).

In this role, you'll Design, develop, and maintain distributed applications that deliver high performance and reliability. Build scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, following modern development best practices (JDK 17 and above). Develop and optimize REST APIs and backend services for high availability and scalability. Collaborate on technical design and architecture discussions to shape robust solutions. Monitor and troubleshoot complex systems, including application, container, and Kubernetes layers. Work with messaging and streaming technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka) to ensure efficiency and reliability. Participate in code reviews and encourage best practices for quality, security, and performance. Support production systems, contributing to incident resolution in a collaborative manner. Mentor team members by sharing knowledge and promoting continuous improvement. Facilitate Agile events such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
