Job summary

Zepto is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join the Infrastructure Planning team in Bengaluru. You will own platform components end-to-end, drive design decisions, and optimize migrations and upgrades for a scalable infra platform.

This role emphasizes stateful services, Kubernetes operations, and robust observability to ensure reliable deployments. You will work with Go/Python/Java to build resilient tools, manage PostgreSQL and Kafka, and contribute to upstream projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or backend engineering with significant infrastructure ownership.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or Java.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience, upgrades, networking, resource management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing a self-hosted stateful system such as PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, including query optimization, indexing, locking, isolation, replication, and connection management.
• Proficiency in Terraform and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing, and SLOs.
• Proven ability to take complex technical projects from design through production.

Responsibilities

• Mentor SDE-1s through reviews, pairing, and design guidance.

1.Ownership & Design
