Job summary

Amazon in Bengaluru, India seeks a software engineer to design and implement scalable Direct Fulfillment systems that serve India and emerging marketplaces. You will own technical design, contribute to architecture, and ship reliable features that scale with demand.

You will mentor engineers, participate in designs and reviews, work with customers, and help launch products to India and world-wide marketplaces.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

• Delivering quality features on-time and execution against project plans and delivery commitments.

About The Team

Direct Fulfillment (DF), known in the industry as "dropship", is a fulfillment model that allows vendors to ship orders directly to the Customer. The offer is branded as 'Ships and Sold by Amazon' and the customer service experience is the same as items sold from Amazon Fulfillment centers, such that the customer does not know the difference. DF was launched in India (IN) on Oct 2018. Our vision: "provide customers with widest possible retail selection while maintaining a superior experience for vendors and cost structure for Amazon".

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
