Job summary

ADCI - Maharashtra in Bengaluru is seeking an SDE II to design and build category-defining experiences that millions of customers interact with daily on Alexa+. You will work with product, design, and partner teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that drive discovery, engagement, and task completion.

You will contribute to category scaling frameworks and embody engineering best practices while mentoring colleagues and pushing the boundaries of AI-native consumer experiences.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

• Building high-quality consumer-facing 3P experiences and Agentic Experts that enable customers to complete tasks through trusted partners on Alexa+.
• Designing and developing components for category scaling frameworks that enable partners to build sophisticated experiences with minimal effort.
• Collaborating closely with product, design, and partner teams to deliver experiences that drive customer discovery, engagement, and task completion.
• Understanding the business impact of your systems and showing good judgment when making technical trade-offs between speed of delivery and long-term scalability.
• Driving engineering best practices (e.g., Operational Excellence, Security, Quality) within the team.
• Contributing to the professional development of colleagues by sharing knowledge, participating in code reviews, and improving engineering practices.

The Alexa 3P Experiences team is on a mission to expand what Alexa+ can do for customers by building consumer-facing experiences with trusted third-party partners like Uber, Ticketmaster, Yelp, and more. You will contribute to category scaling frameworks – reusable components that enable partners to build sophisticated experiences with minimal effort.

A day in the life

A typical day will start with a morning huddle to catch up on what you and your team worked on the previous day. This is usually followed by some whiteboard design discussions on the problems the team is working on. The afternoon is mostly spent on project design and implementation work with a heavy dose of code reviews from and for your team along the way. We are a fun, close-knit team where everyone is ready to roll up their sleeves and help each other out, push boundaries, and have fun doing it!

Alexa 3P Experiences is a dedicated organization within Alexa Domains, purpose-built to rapidly expand the choices and selection of agentic experiences on Alexa+. Building on early launches with marquee partners, our mission is to offer customers choice and expanded selection in Alexa's agentic capabilities – positioning Alexa to lead in the next generation of ambient AI interactions. We work closely with cross-functional teams across Alexa for core platform capabilities while owning the end-to-end consumer experience and category innovation.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
